Andrea Alliston is a partner and leader of the Knowledge Management Group in Toronto. She is responsible for the strategic direction of knowledge management and innovation - leading the firm's KM initiatives and working with practising lawyers and clients on innovative approaches to delivering legal services. As part of her practice, she leads client mandates to collaboratively develop solutions using a blend of legal knowledge, technology expertise, process improvement and project implementation experience.
Andrea spearheads pilots of innovative and emerging technologies and oversees the selection and implementation of legal technology tools. Andrea also oversees the development and enhancement of the firm's extensive precedent, legal resources and client facing collections as well as aspects of the firm’s data and information management initiatives. She works closely with other senior management on a range of strategic initiatives relating to technology, experience management, data analytics and legal project management.
Prior to her current role, Andrea practised corporate law with the firm, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private equity funds and venture capital transactions, as well as a broad range of other corporate and commercial matters.
Professional Activities
Andrea is a frequent panellist and speaker on legal technology, innovation, knowledge management strategy, and data and information management. She is active in the legal knowledge management community in North America and is a member of the Toronto Legal KM Group. She is also a member of Toronto Opinions Group (TOROG) and the Canadian Bar Association.
